K9 Solutions (Malta) was born out a need from members of the general public wanting a more effective and humane style of obedience dog training, without recourse to punitive punishment measures. A relationship between owner and dog based on mutual love and respect. K9 Solutions (Malta) is a new interactive dog training service, designed and offered to you by Mr Darren Alexander BPSCA, BIPDT. This service offers Individual "one to one" bespoke dog training. Darren is an extremely proficient and experienced dog handler and trainer, having worked in the field of dog management and canine welfare for many years, both locally and abroad. Darren's extensive canine background specialized in both general purpose police, security and detection dogs, having been a consultant to the Maltese Government agencies on procurement of working dogs and was one of the original specialist team members that established the K9 Urban Search and Rescue Unit right here in Malta. Darren is now able to offer and share his vast experience in dog training in a safe and fun environment with dogs from many different backgrounds, and is particularly able to work very successfully with dogs that have suffered some form of physical and or emotional trauma i.e. ex-shelter dogs, whom, on first sight may appear as "un-trainable" but with the right owner, patience and the appropriate training, can turn out to be a really great dog that just needed a second chance in life. Darren has worked with Dogs at: Dog's Trust Malta and other various Shelter's, such as Noah's Ark and Triple AAA, Also with private owners, and established large kennels across the islands, including SPCA Gozo. Darren was the "go-to" Trainer and Assessor at SPCA Malta. Darren, who is well known within the Canine Community here in Malta for his positive and up-beat "can do" attitude also conducts regular Seminar's, Workshops and Educational Training at venues across the islands, Indeed you may have seen him on TV from time to time talking about our four-legged friends. Darren is a member of the following professional Canine Organizations: British Police Services Canine Association and The British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers.
